TAG ACQUIRES CHICAGO BASED FURNITURE MAKER PARALLEL LINES
TAG TO INTRODUCE TAG BRANDED FURNITURE LINE
CHICAGO (September 19, 2006) - tag announces the acquisition of Parallel Lines a 26 year old Chicago based designer, manufacturer and importer of furniture. tag will maintain Parallel Lines current operations and launch a new line of tag branded furniture and related home furnishings product. Tag’s Norman Glassberg adds “furniture is a logical addition to the tag brand and we are pleased to be able to go forward with an experienced and successful organization.”
David Lapin, Parallel Lines founder, who will join tag and lead tag’s furniture effort, describes the sale of his company to tag as “a great opportunity to partner with a terrific brand.” Lapin went on to add “for nearly 30 years Parallel Lines has a solid track record in terms of delivering quality private label and OEM furniture products to leading retailers and furniture makers and it will be great to combine Parallel Line’s core competencies with the tag brand and organization”.
tag branded furniture will be marketed to premium independent and specialty retailers around the world. The plan for tag branded furniture will include a soft launch during fall 2006 with a hard launch planned for March 2007. In October, the company looks forward to discussing the acquisition and plans for tag branded furniture with the trade during the Highpoint NC Market. Tag will immediately occupy Parallel Lines showroom space in the Hamilton building IHFC suite # H503.
